Juozas Liaudanskis is a well-known Lithuanian folk artist and stone sculptor. His sculptures adorn the city of Kelmė, where he lived most of his life, as well as Kelmė, Stulgiai, Žalpiai, Kurtuvėnai, Tytuvėnai, Lioliai, Marijampolė and other cemeteries. Adult and independent, he moved to the city Kelmė. Having a passion for art, he carefully inspected a sculpture created by a sculptor in the cemetery and tried to work on the stone monuments himself.
The entire work of J. Liaudanskis can be divided into two large groups: early memorial works on religious themes, which accompanied the master at maturity, and in the late century, and later or late secular works.
J. Liaudanskis has also decorated Kelmė and its surroundings with monumental decorative sculptures. In Kelmė there are his sculptures "Skalbėja", "Saviveiklininkai", "Lietuvaitė", a monument dedicated to Bronis Laucevičius-Vargšas.
The tombstones created by J. Liaudanskis are very diverse. Some are not even similar to each other. The monuments of this artist are characterized by symmetry and balance of individual parts of the monument, sculptural decor, they are assembled from several separate parts. The monuments are decorated with sculptures. Most of them are religious in nature, retaining the folk tradition of wooden sculptures. Much attention is paid to the detailed head modeling that is characteristic of wooden folk sculptures
