CROSSROADS OF SVILĖ CROSSES

In the district of Kelmė, near the sources of Svilė (Šaukėnai eldership), crosses of crossroad are known for the times of the serfhood, and crosses are still under construction here. This place is magical. The cross version of Crossroads appeared when the chapel stood there and the wishes were given. The chapels have not been there for a long time, but people, thinking that the place is sacred, began to build crosses. It is said that in this place the first crosses were placed on the hangmans, and then built on people who had not been able to reconcile with God.
