The first Catholic church in Kolainiai was built in 1740 landlord Jonas Adamkavičius. After 1864 the church was closed in 1867 it was converted into a church (the church of the icon of the Mother of God of Kolainiai "Smolenskaya"). 1922 the church was reorganized into a Catholic church again, and in 1942 a new wooden church of the icon of the Mother of God of Smolenskaya in Kolainiai was built in. The present church was consecrated in 12’th October 1997.
